"UKRTRUBOIZOL" - Guarantee of Quality
Scientific and
production company "Ukrtruboizol" (UTI) is the first company in
Ukraine to produce a two-layer anticorrosion coating on tubes of 89
to 530 mm outside diameter by industrial polyethylene extrusion.
Tubes
with this coating are used for underground gas, oil, and water supply pipelines
operating with products at temperatures from –40 to +70˚C.
Unlike
bituminous, polymer tape and other coating methods used presently in Ukraine,
the PE extrusion onto a hard adhesive sublayer provides for much higher quality
of the coating, especially its mechanical strength, high adhesion, low water
permeability and absorption; these guarantee long service life (40 to 50 years)
and operational safety of pipelines.
 The
coating consists of PE layer of 2.5 to 3.0 mm thickness extruded onto a hard
adhesive sublayer which is copolymer of ethylene with vinylacetate. The
adhesive sublayer provides for high adhesion of the outer coating while the PE
guarantees high mechanical strength.
Technical specification TU U 13457882.001-2001 on PE-coated tubes from UTI has
been approved by Ukrainian gas and oil supervision agency (NAK "Neftegas
of Ukraine") and by State labor safety department (Gosnadzorohrantruda); this
specification provides the basic for design and construction of new oil & gas
pipelines in Ukraine.
Testing of PE-coated tubes shown their conformity to the requirements of GOST
9.602-89 "Underground facilities. General requirements to corrosion protection"
and GOST 25812-83 "Steel pipelines. General requirements to corrosion
protection".
Besides, PE coating on tubes satisfies the main requirements of DIN 30670 "PE
coatings" and GOST R 51164-98 "Steel pipelines. General requirements to
corrosion protection".
